Rural villages in India face deep, everyday hardship
Families in Sunakhala and villages like it face poverty, limited access to education, insufficient nutrition, and few employment opportunities. Without support, children leave school, health worsens, and the cycle of poverty continues across generations.
One Village One World exists to break that cycle, not with short-term charity, but with sustained, relationship-driven support that walks with families toward true self-sufficiency.

O U R F O U N D E R
A vision born from personal experience
One Village One World was founded by Gitanjali Champatiray, a young person with a strong belief that every child, no matter where they are born, deserves access to education and opportunity.
Gitanjali's inspiration grew from her personal connection to India — specifically her father's childhood village, where she chose to begin her work. This deep family tie gave her firsthand understanding of the community and a strong sense of purpose, inspiring her to give back to a place woven into her family's story. She observed that while many communities overflow with culture and resilience, families often lack access to basic resources: nutritious food, educational support, and essential needs for their children.
As founder, she works alongside an adult Board of Directors and parent leadership to ensure the nonprofit operates responsibly, transparently, and in alignment with best practices. Through One Village One World, Gitanjali hopes to inspire others, especially young people, to believe that compassion has no age requirement, and that meaningful change can begin with one idea, one village, for our one world.
